Permanent Location of Herron Preparatory Academy

Wednesday April 27, 2022

Herron Classical Schools has signed a purchase agreement for the building at 3100 N. Meridian Street as our permanent site. The building was owned by The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Renovations will begin soon as we prepare to move into the space for the 2023-24 school year. The location of the building is equidistant to both of our high schools, Herron and Herron-Riverside, which was an important factor in the decision to purchase the building.

Herron Classical Schools President Janet McNeal said,  "It's been such a pleasure working with the staff at The Children's Museum to secure this location. I can’t imagine a better neighbor for the permanent site for Herron Preparatory Academy. We are eager to begin outreach to the surrounding neighborhoods and working with the midtown neighborhood associations."

Herron Classical Schools will continue to create and implement curriculum, maintain operations, and manage events on the property. While The Children’s Museum and Herron Prep are independent of one another, President McNeal said, “We look forward to possibilities for collaboration and ways to create meaningful relationships with the neighborhoods we serve.”

Herron Preparatory Academy is currently located in a modular building on the north side of Herron High School’s campus and will remain there for the 2022-23 school year.
