Herron Preparatory Academy abides by the Indiana Civil Rights Laws (I.C. 22-9-1), Title VI and VII (Civil Rights Act of 1964), the Equal Pay Act of 1973, Title IX (Educational Amendments), Section 504 (Rehabilitation Act of 1973), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (42 USCS § 12101,et.seq.). Complaints regarding acts of sexual discrimination or harassment in violation of Title IX requirements should be filed with Herron Classical Schools' Title IX Coordinator, Karen Abercrombie Lalioff, by email at klalioff@herronclassical.org, by phone at 317-231-0010 x1113, or by filling out a Report of Harassment form available from Student Services or any school administrator.

Dyslexia Screening Report
- Herron Preparatory Academy screens all students for characteristics of dyslexia in grades K–2 using the mCLASS DIBELS Dyslexia Screener and screens students based on need in grades 3-8, in accordance with Indiana state guidelines.
- Students identified as demonstrating characteristics of dyslexia are supported through our core literacy program, Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA). Additionally, students may receive targeted academic intervention through programs and approaches including UFLI Foundations, Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI), and Orton-Gillingham.
- In accordance with IC 20-35.5-5-5-2 reporting requirements, during the 2025–2026 school year, Herron Preparatory Academy identified 19 students as “at risk” and 35 students as demonstrating “some risk” for characteristics of dyslexia. These students received academic intervention and support based on their individual needs.
- During the 2025–2026 school year, no students were reported to the school as having an official diagnosis of dyslexia from a certified medical professional.
Open Gate Screening System
Herron Classical Schools occasionally utilizes the Open Gate screening system to detect weapons and other unauthorized items before, during, and after school hours on each campus, as well as during school-sponsored events off campus, to help ensure a safe learning environment.
