Also Available: Myriad Health and Fitness

We have partnered with downtown Indy-based Myriad Health + Fitness (formerly NapTown Fitness) to bring after-school Fitness Care to Herron Prep! On Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year, a certified Kids Coach will be on-site to take kids through mini-workouts, games, and other movement-based activities. Registration for Fitness Care will occur quarterly, and a minimum of (8) kids are needed to run the program. Pickup will be at 4:30 pm!

McKinney-Vento Act

If you live in any of the following situations:

  • In a Shelter

  • In a Motel or campground due to lack of accommodation
  • In a car, park, abandoned building or bus/train station
  • Doubled up with other people due to loss of housing or economic hardship

You may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Act.

FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a Federal law, requires that Herron Preparatory Academy, with certain exceptions, obtain your written consent prior to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from your child’s education records. However, Herron Preparatory Academy may disclose appropriately designated “directory information” without written consent, unless you have advised the school to the contrary in accordance with school procedures. The primary purpose of directory information is to allow the Herron Preparatory Academy to include this type of information from your child’s education records in certain school publications.

Classroom Observation Policy

Herron Classical Schools (HCS) affirms the right of a parent/guardian/custodian to request a classroom observation in his/her student’s classroom. To ensure a productive climate for visitation and lessen the potential for disruption to classroom instruction, all parents/guardians/custodians must abide by the terms outlined by HCS.
